CommonCore Videos

Teacher Channel is a website with wide array of videos. All the videos have many subjects and age groups they pertain to. I liked the different videos I watched, they varied in length (some longer than others) however, I enjoyed what I watched. The different material I watched gave me knowledge to what I could use in the future as far as teaching styles and methods. One of the videos I watched was about math in New York City and Common Core State Standards. I thought it was a really good video and it held my attention from start to end. I think this site is great for teachers & future teachers and I will defintiely keep it in mind when I start my career!

Experiencing Group

Vicki and I did our group project together on classrooms of the future, enhancing education. Althrough we had lots of complications with technology in completeing the presentation and the project, I thought we did a really good job.  We used Prezi to make the presentation and it was a really neat presentation program. I thought the skipping stones showed how technology has evolved and changed. At the beginning of the presentation we used Skype, which we discussed in our research project. I thought that helped to draw the audience into our presentation and draw their interest. Although I know I was extremely nervous, I thought we did a really good job and got some only positive feedback which is always nice to hear!

Worst Luck with Technology EVER

I don't think I can find the words to explain how bad of luck I have had with computers, Microsoft Word, the Internet, just basically anything involving a computer. My computer crashed, lost all the information on it including all work for my project for this class that was due like ages ago and I still have yet to find the time to finish it because I have to make up a million other things and work a full time job. On top of that, I am going to be penalized for something that I have no control over. Now to make things even better, with this latest project, my partners computer crashes and we lose all of our work. I thinkt the universe is trying to tell me something or I just have extremely bad luck. Thanks blog for letting me vent and I have to say, this is the most I have ever EVER wrote on my blog about anything.

My Beliefs about Technology and Learning

 Technology has really evoloved over time in the classrooms. From overheads to powerpoint to now smart boards. In my opinion, technology has vastly improved and is only going to get better. With the advancement in technology, teachers need to keeping up with this. It is very important for any teacher to be up to date and not too apprehensive about learning and teaching us students what this new technology has to offer. Life without technology in a classroom is dull and boring. Just reading from a textbook isn't going to suffice anymore. The world has moved onto bigger and better things like the smartboard. In my opinion, every classroom should have one of these because they are only going to make students learning experiences better and it can possibly help them want to learn more. It will be up to the teacher to be up to date with the technologies since students are move tech savy and know everything there is to know. If we as teachers can incorprate technology in an educational way, I believe it will help make educating generations to come much easier and a make learning more fun for everyone.
